This week I made my usual calls to Lifetime.  Things were the same at the New York office, leave a message, but the LA office had some news.  The person I talked to said that Blood Ties was not coming back to Lifetime, that they had no plans to show any future seasons of Blood Ties.  To say that I was shocked is an understatement.  I called one of my friends and asked them to call also to confirm it.  It took a couple days to get a confirmation from both offices, but we finally got the calls back.  Lifetime is done with Blood Ties.
Lifetime said that they would be sending out emails with the bad news this week.  Even though it might make us feel better to call them, or send angry emails or postcards, lifetime said it would not help.  Each of us is going to have to decide how best to use our time, energy, and money.
So where does that leave the fans?  The way I see it, we now have to concentrate on getting another network to pick it up.  The best info we have is that the production company that owns the rights to the show, is still working on finding a network to air Blood Ties in the US.  So let’s help them out.
Right now there are 3 big ways that we can help to get the attention of TV networks.
1.    Place an ad in a big trade publication (like oh, I don’t know, maybe Variety?)  Since there is already a campaign underway to do this, let’s help them out.  Go to http://www.geocities.com/bloodties_henryfitzroy/index.html or directly to www.paypal.com and send money to bloodties_henryfitzroy@yahoo.com .   There is a deadline of May 15th on this, so please go sooner rather than later.
2.   Contact the other networks directly.  You can find their contact info @ http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/savebloodties/
3.   Blood Ties Fans Recycle for Sight  http://btfgb.wordpress.com/
I know that many of us were counting on Lifetime to step up and not lose this valuable show.  Unfortunately it looks like they could not see the gem that they had.  So let’s help the other networks out there see what they are missing.
This is not the end of Blood Ties.  We are stronger, smarter, and braver than anyone has given has given credit for.  We will not give up this easily.  We ain’t dead yet.

I am NOT willing to accept this....These people are out of their minds!!!!!

Did they say why? Is it a money issue? (usually it is) Or because they dont believe in the show`s success?

How I hate human stupidity... Angry

Oh oh this are bad news.  Sad
Let's hope another network will air the show, but I'm not so convinced it might happen.

Really sad news.

I know, I really hate being the bearing of bad news.  But who knows when Lifetime would tell anyone, they aren't so great in the communication dept.  I really do think that the production company is trying to get another network to air it.

Do you know who the production company is looking at specifically?  Perhaps we could help then out by concentrating our efforts on those networks.

Put up the info on my blog already.

I thought they were focussing on FX and Sci-Fi.

Ok, Maybe this isn't so bad. I rarely watched Lifetime before Blood Ties, and will not watch them now. After the dust has settled and Blood Ties has a new home, we should really all let Hearst/Disney know how dissatisfied we are with the way Wong & Daniels handled this. But for now...

Lifetime treated the show with such little respect that any network would be an improvement ! So, Let find BT a new home !!

The last I heard, FX was interested, as is SciFi, but I haven't heard anything else on that front for a few weeks. I would love to see BT land on FX. Their demographic is perfect for the show. They are also good about publicizing their shows - much better than Lifetime ever did.

Yeah, I think FX would be a great network to show Blood Ties.  Let's face it anything would be better than LT.
I put the info for FX and SciFi on the front page of my site if anyone is interested.

An online friend of mine has a contact who works for FX. She said she will check and see what the status is on that front, and she will let me know. I will pass on the word when I get it.

Angry  Not happy news, but not too much of a surprise.  I hope we will keep supporting the show, AND                remember:

Lifetime is still the only place people can watch on line for free!
That's where many fans, including myself, first saw Blood Ties!  Hopefully they will keep the episodes and message board up as long as possible, so don't go crazy and antagonize them yet. We need the episodes there to attract new fans!!!
