Hi, Kyle! Thanks for answering questions for us.
My question is: Which charities do you support?

.... with my downtime I've become part of a charity called "Love Cures Cancer". It's a new charity that myself and a handful of others have come together to fundraise for St. Judes Childrens Hospital, with an initial goal of $250,000 to 500,000. There is a facebook group up and running, with a professional website that should be completed very shortly.  We've teamed together with others who are doing their part to use individual resources to spread the awareness of the charity, in hopes of completing our goal.

Here's the link to the "Love Cures Cancer" group on Facebook.

I hope people can see the page even if they are not signed in on Facebook ....

They are working on a website, but it's not online yet - http://www.lovecurescancer.com/

Anne:

Thanks for the link.  I've had family members with cancer so it's something I can really get behind.  Props to Kyle for supporting such a worthwhile cause.

My mom's had cancer too, but this appears to be aimed for children, which is just as worthy.

I certainly do appreciate your decision of the charity that you have selected.  Thank you for your passion to the cause.  Having 2 parents who have survived three different kinds of cancer, and many relatives who lost the fight.  I have been working with the American Cancer society for years and feel that any charity that works for a cure or assistance for those who are battling cancer is #1 in my book.

Last year a close friend's 4 year-old neice was diagnosed with leukemia.  I'm happy to report she is faring well, has completed treatment, and appears to be on the road to recovery.  Who knows how many children like her you will be able to help.

Thank you Kyle for choosing such a worthy cause, and I pray your charity will help many people.

The "About" page on stjude.org says:

"All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay."

I like that.

I know first hand that cancer is traumatic and devastating (for both patients and their families) and that coping with it, and the treatments, is hard, especially so when the patient is a child.  I’ve lost several of my own family members to cancer (both young and old), so I get quite teary when I hear about others coping with cancer.  It is good to know about places like St. Jude and what they are doing for children (and their families) and I definitely have no hesitation in adding my support for the fundraising.  I think that sending Valentine e-cards and videograms to the children is a fun way to spread a little love whilst they are going through treatment.

I will definitely “show some love this Valentines” and will spread the word around about the campaign to family and friends.  I wish the ‘Love Cures Cancer’ campaign all success in raising the funds aimed for.

http://www.lovecurescancer.com/ will now let you donate 99 cents through a text message to a certain number.  It said they will be offering more ways to donate in the future.

Kyle, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, two years ago, and that is the charity she started supporting a year ago. (St. Judes Childrens Hosp.) I've continued her donations, since she's been in hospice. So I would like to thank you for your generosity.
It's very sweet of you, and is greatly appreciated, beyond words.

It is wonderful that Kyle , along with others, finds the time to support Children's cancer charities.
It can not be stressed enough how much children need their own treatment facilities, instead of being treated on adult units.
If you can not support the charity that Kyle is involved with, I would urge you to support a children's cancer charity in your country, unfortunately cancer is no respecter of national boundaries and cash is always needed.
Why not consider a donation in Kyles name , every little helps.
Currently cancer effects 1 in 4 in the western world, so chances are that sadly we have all been touched by this terrible condition..
A dear friend of mine's son died aged 11years, we were blessed to have known him. The support of a childrens cancer unit, helped him live his life to the full measure, and gave his parents great support..
Bless you Kyle, for taking an active interest.

I think TJ has a great suggestion.  Donate in Kyle's name, he gets a little more exposure and St. Judes gets donations they need for a great cause.  It's a win/win for everyone involved.

My father died 3 years ago, my mother was operated 3 days ago.
There are two other people that I had been watched dying slowly.

Yes, I've met the cancer closely. I think that there is never enough to do with it.
Big international farmaceutic gigants are not interested in fighting the disease.
We are much more motivated to fight.

I am very happy that Kyle shared with us his charity action.

In my country there are many Cancer Organisations and a lot of people working for the cause.
Every year on spring there is a donation action called "Fields of Hope" and it helps hospises to take care of dying people.
Those of you who did take care of dying of cancer know how important is help of professionals. But they need our help too.

And tomorrow (January 11th) starts for the 17th time the geatest donation action called Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Poomocy (The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity). Maybe you have heard about it. It's well known all over the world. It collects money for sick children. Lots of youngsters become volunteers and inspite the cold they stay outside all day long and meet people ready to help. They distribute the hearshaped labels that we put on our coats. It's a great event organized in many Polish cities that is broadcasted on TV.
This year a part of funds will be given to the child hospises in Poland.

As I can not join Kyle's Organisation I will give extra money for WOSP.
If you want to read more about this action here is a link to an English version of the Organizastion website.
