I hope there's not already a topic for this. If so, just delete this or ignore.

Is anyone going to the LCC charity event on February 10th? I was thinking about it, but I'm not sure yet.

Updated the title.

Good thinking!

What: Take a Chance on Love II,
When: Wednesday, February 10, 8pm to 2 am, Red Carpet 8pm to 10pm
Dress: Cocktail attire suggested
Where: Voyeur, 7969 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood 90046
Price: $30 at the door - presale $20

All proceeds will be donated to
Children's Hospital Los Angeles(CHLA)

Just remember - Kyle is one of the hosts of the event, and as such he has to take care of everyone and everything, so don't expect a lot of time with him.

I'm always up for charity events, Kyle just happens to be a tremendous bonus (so he wouldn't be the only reason I would go). I was going to take a vacation around Feb. 15th anyways, but current plans got cancelled; so I figured I might just go there.

(I don't know about me in a cocktail type dress. I'm still all fat from stocking up for the winter. lol.)

How about you Anne, are you going?

I'd love to, and I even have the time off to do it. ...
But it seems too frivolous to spend that much money to fly in from Denmark -
Both money and CO2

Better for the cause if I donate money instead of buying airline tickets.

Besides, I was just in London the weekend before last, so the vacation budget is still recovering  Wink

Just realized that it's on Wednesday (despite the previous posts). I don't know if I want to take off of class for one or two days just to go to an event. I'm just wondering why a wednesday, I mean I know its Hollywood n' all, but doesn't somebody have to go to work thursday? I still haven't made up my mind though. Well I have answers from Anne, maggiemay, and Cynthia; what about the rest of you (are you going)? Huh?

I'd love to but I can't. I have no money and a travel from Spain to Los Angeles is too expensive  Cry

I'm in the same boat with everyone else, lack of money but not desire.  Besides unless you really live close to the venue I think we might be able to do more good like Anne says she's doing by staying at home, saving the price of the airfare and donate as much as we can.  And since I'm such an old fart I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable in that venue anyway, that's more for the rest of you whippersnappers, lol.

I have to agree to Anne. Going there from Germany will cost a lot of money, which is better spent as a donation. So I will do that! And anyway, nobody wanna see me in a cocktail dress  Tongue

I live fairly close, but I just cannot take off from classes  Cry. I'd have to leave Tuesday and miss acting class, then I would miss all of Wed. and Thurs. classes. It's just to costly (time wise) to miss 3 days of classes for 1 night of fun. Besides, I think my art teacher would drop me in an instant if I missed even 1 class. I think that this is one of the cheapest charity events one can get into (if you don't have to travel that is). I know that some events we hold here are $200+ for a ticket, and well that's just too much for me. Well hopefully next year I can plan a month or two ahead and be able to go.

Smiley It would be nice to know what their goal ($$) was and how much they were able to bring in. Do we know of anyone who was able to attend the event (other than Kyle of course)? I checked out the venue's website just for kicks a couple weeks ago - Voyeur...looks like quite the kinky place  Tongue Sigh...young Hollywood, always pushing the envelope! LOL   Grin
Ran across a site with reviews - everyone has a different opinion..naked women hanging from the ceiling? Yikes! http://www.yelp.com/biz/voyeur-los-angeles
