Hi Kyle,

How many of the 10 movies nominated for best motion picture of the year have you seen? And which one would you vote for to win?

Avatar (2009)
The Blind Side (2009)
District 9 (2009)
An Education (2009)
The Hurt Locker (2008)
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire (2009)
A Serious Man (2009)
Up (2009)
Up in the Air (2009/I)

I've seen 7/10 films and I would have to say that Avatar takes the cake
or...Oscar.

Good question, Anne.  I haven't seen Avatar yet, but everyone says it is awesome.  My prediction for best picture is Hurt Locker.  It will be interesting to see what effect the new voting criteria has on the Oscars this year.

I'm with Kyle on this one.  Avatar is unbelievably awesome.  I saw it in 3D and was blown away.  3D has come a long way.  It wasn't like the old 3D experience of objects jumping out at you.  It was like I was actually in the movie.  If it doesn't win the Oscar then there is no justice in the world.

I would give Avatar 8 of 10 points, because it was to dark(the colours) and a little bit to long. But, if I think, which films get 8points from me recently, I can only name two: "A history of violence" and "The international".
I know people, who give Avatar 11 of 10 points. I guess, it`s a men`s thing.

Vampires are a myth. Do you believe this?

I've seen only two movies from the list.
But I agree with many of us - Avatar should be a great winner.
And for me it's not only a question of technology - I love screenplay, actors, pictures, story which it's
(unfortunately) still actual lesson to learn.
I put Avatar on the first place of my movies list with Matrix (1st part).
