1  First Stop / Meet and Greet / Re: Hello There... on: January 03, 2011, 03:46:25 AM
Hello Jen,   Smiley

Welcome to KSC! It's always great to meet another fan of Kyle's.

I'm an Ian fan as well (knew about him before Kyle) but they're equal faves for me now!

Soo miss Kyle as Henry!
2  Fan Area / TV series / Re: Being Human:Sy Fy Channel Remake on: December 23, 2010, 10:41:24 AM
Thanks for sharing F. Fawn

SyFy uses/has been using the word "re-imagining" to tout this "new" show, but quite frankly as it's in the same "vein" as the original, right down to the fact that the three main characters house together and both male leads work in a hospital, I fail to see how "re-imagined" this is.

Just as you have F.Fawn, most of what I've read alludes to it following the UK version closely. Again no "imagination" in the "re-imagining".

And to top it off, as if trying to be "cute", they name their vampire (as played by Witwer) "Aidan", which is also the first name of the actor, Aidan Turner, who plays vampire Mitchell in the original version.

I can understand remakes being done when a show is/ has been off the air for a number of years etc, or if something new and different is being brought to the table, but still...

I may tune in to this version: a) if I have nothing else to watch, b) to see home much of Montreal I can recognize a/o  c) as I am familiar with previous work of the Montreal actress who plays the ghost.

But the original will always be the #1 for me.

A bit of info to the end - Sam Witwer was the one who got the role of DoomsDay/ Davis Bloome in SmallVille season 8, over Kyle.

How about leaving some comments over at SyFy asking them when they're going to air Three Inches? I think we probably should keep try to keep leaving comments on a somewhat regular basis. Let them know we aren't
going anywhere.

The link appears to be broken. Here's the repaired one: http://www.facebook.com/Syfy

Wow! Nice Maggie! Great Find! Wonder where these had been hiding!

And so that means he did go to TIFF (or at least was in the area?)... Wonder when we're going to see the interview?  Wink

Done! I've added my comment with picture... And, when you click the little "thumbs up" icon next to the comment you like, the more votes a comment gets, makes the comment & content with it (pic a/o vid) move closer to the top of the page site! Wink

Also, everyone don't forget this other recent article of Raelynn's where she asks: "Vampire characteristics - What exactly sucks us in?"  She gives reference to some of Henry characteristics too! Wink

Working with the James Marsters fans makes sense - what are they up to?

I know there's digg - what other tags can you add to make your messages get noticed? I think it's mainly blogs that can use it.

Not sure there are enough of us that we can make it trend on Twitter.
But be sure to use this tag in your message:

#threeinches

And try adding these:
#kyleschmid
#jamesmarsters
I'm not sure if the names shold be without spaces or what - any Twitter experts here know?

Read up on Twitter Trending here:
http://www.dailybloggr.com/2010/03/how-to-make-a-trending-topic-on-twitter-and-how-not-to/

I won't necessarily call myself a Twitter expert but... Wink

It has to be as one word, re: #kyleschmid thus the name becomes "searchable".

If possible (i.e if there's space with 140 words) then using both Kyle Schmid & #kyleschmid & James Marsters #JamesMarsters in the same sentence would be recommended.
As some tweeters sometimes/most times don't hastag (#) an actors name, but rather the movie title. (If one does a general twitter search for Kyle Schmid there are more hits than for #KyleSchmid.)

We may not be able to make it trend, but a good idea would be to retweet each others tweets about it, that way our/other followers would see that, "hey more than one person is tweet talking about this thing"

I don't use digg, so I'm no help there Smiley

Okay, here's another place we can leave comments.

An interview done by a blogger with SyFy's Vice President of Original Programming and Development Erika Kennair: http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2010/10/29/october-28-2010-syfy-vice-president-of-original-programming-and-development-erika-kennair-answers-your-questions/

Erika is literally in charge of handling Three Inches, re: "I cover SGU, Sanctuary, Outer Space Astronauts, WWE Smackdown, a pilot called Three Inches ... Itís my job to be the cheerleader for my series, balancing the showís wants and needs with that of the network in order to hopefully make everyone happy and get the best ratings possible.  I give notes on scripts and cuts, as well as drafts of projects in development.  Lately Iíve been doing quite a bit of travel for Three Inches, where I chime in on set, much to the directorís delight."

And here's her twitter page if anyone wants to Tweet at her about Three Inches: http://twitter.com/ekennair

Update: A few hours ago, SyFy on Twitter answered a few questions from fans on Twitter about new shows... Unfortunately they didn't answer any about "Three Inches", BUT in reply to a Tweeters question, re: "...what can those of us who can't... afford/don't have cable do to help ratings, other than spreading the word?" (http://twitter.com/Syfy/status/29212060357)

SyFy replied (very much along the lines of what Kyle suggest we do), re: "A) Spreading the word is always the best way to support any show. Biggest hurdle across the board is getting viewers to try shows." (http://twitter.com/Syfy/status/29212089397)

Also, about 30min ago Ellen Degeneres post this tweet: "Tweet me your questions with the tag #AskEllen. Itís like a Magic 8 Ball only slightly less accurate." > http://twitter.com/TheEllenShow/status/29218275916

I suggest those on twitter/ who hv a twitter account tweet at her to have the "Three Inches" cast on her show for an interview... (preferably Kyle, or Kyle and James Smiley

Figured it'd be a good idea to start a topic thread on the IMDb forum, as another place to leave "positive" comments (and in case the studio / production company checks the IMDb message boards, as well as everywhere else)

The thread is titled "So... Who's looking forward to this show when it airs?": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1709168/board/threads/
